Detoxing Your Life

I am a big believer in fresh starts and getting rid of any negativity in your life! Often people do this at the start of a new year, beginning of each month. People feel 'detoxing' is healthy eating, drinking green boost smoothies, working out, blah blah blah... However myself, I feel it is something I do when I am feeling unmotivated, uninspired, or if I feel I am stuck in a rut of doing the same boring thing. Life is too short to be stuck doing the same thing each day with the same people and not being able to explore, have fun and live life a little on the wild side !!

To start with I would focus primarily on getting rid of any bad toxins, negativity & anything else that may be weighing me down. Then I can build upon it and feel refreshed and brand new! Think of it as a way to create a clean state where you will be happy, relaxed and content with most aspects (if not everything) of your life.

I thought there was no better than to put all my ways and means of detoxing your life into a list. So feel free to take ideas and try it on yourself.... it may work wonders.

1. Taking breaks from social media- it helps me just rewind, makes me feel new and motivated with brand new ideas and so much more energy.

2. Being outside- so many days I spend inside whether thats at home, in the library etc and it just becomes so monotanous stayng in the same place. I often love to get out, explore, go for walks, sit in parks, take my camera, go shopping and so much more.

3. Cut ties and communication- this can tend to be a difficult one, however, if people or social media are holding you back, only you can stop yourself from letting it have a negative impact. Deleting old messages, photos, unfollowing... all of those make you feel so much more relaxed and a feeling of relief, knowing there is no way they can bring negativity in to your life

4. Look after yourself- for me it is the MOST important thing. When I feel like everything is getting on top of me I turn to a “pamper” evening. My pamper evenings are usually pretty simple, its more just having a bath, putting a face mask on, listening to my favourite albums and reading a book. I try just totally have the time for me, away from my phone and everyone else so I feel totally relaxed.

5. Do what you love- focus on doing things that you enjoy, surround yourself with people whos company you love and make the most of all the things in life (whether that be little or big) as time is too short to miss out on anything.

Basically, do things and go places so you don't regret not doing it in the future and try not to dwell on the past. It can’t be changed, and that’s totally okay. Instead, plan what you are doing now, what’s your next step, and how you’re going to do this. Fill yourself with positivity and look forward not back. Always. Always. Always.

Festival Glitter Fix

FESTIVAL SEASON IS FINALLY HERE!! And I cannot wait to be out dancing in the fields with my friends! With Coachella and Parklife already been and gone, it certainly kick started the festival season with a bang...! With plenty more festivals ahead of us I thought I would share with you some makeup and glitter inspiration to get you just as excited for the festival season as I am!!

Glitter is one of those beauty products that can be used all-over, but everyone seems to be loving the glitter under-eye accents and glittered cheekbones, a la galactic glam.

Gemstones, Glitter, sparkles and stickers – the more we can pile on to our faces come festival season, the happier we all are. It is super duper simple and you can buy little pots of glitter from nearly every beauty store these days or ordered online for cheap.

I dab Vaseline on to the areas of my face where I want the glitter to be, then swipe the glitter on top and seal with hair spray if you wish (close your eyes when you do this!). When I am going for a more defined look with chunky pieces of glitter I also use a makeup brush for easy application!

Stores such as Primark and New Look all sell various different gemstones, temporary tattoos, stickers to suit any festival look, whether you want to go extreme and super sparkly or subtle, they have loads which are worth checking out!!

But, until next time, let festival season commence!

Super Boost Brekkie Bowl

As you probably know by now I absolutely love making smoothies, and this year I am a little TOO obsessed with creating new smoothie combos and ideas. Whether it’s detox greens or a super simple berry fruity one I lavvvvv them all… After seeing others make these I gave them a try, so I thought I'd share a little something I’ve been loving a hell of a lot recently… Smoothie Brekkie Bowls!

You will need:
  • A cup of strawberries, raspberries, blueberries.
  • A kiwi and banana
  • A squeeze of honey.
  • A spoonful of yoghurt.
  • Summer fruits juice.
  • Granola

Let’s Do This:
Okay, so now for the fun part…. All ya gotta do its pop all the strawberries, raspberries and blueberries, honey, yoghurt and fruit juice in a blender, make sure its well blended and then pour it in to a bowl. Add some granola, sliced kiwi, banana and strawberries. It is THAT easy.

So yum.

These are smoothie bowls are perfect if you’ve got a little extra time for breakfast, or if you’ve got friends over and wanna make something super easy, that looks extra special and tastes even better (especially on summer mornings)!!

Blushin' Pink Stylin'

I am actually the worst when it comes to outfit posts considering the amount of clothes I have and I keep on buying but hopefully, this is going to change over the summer! For anyone who knows me or has even been shopping then you'll know I'm really fussy with my clothes, so when I find something I love, I end up wearing it over and over! And I tend to stick to very black or white clothing, the majority of them consisting of stripes... lol!?

However, since summer is now upon us, the sun is out, I am absolute lurvingggg blush, dusty pink clothing! Although I have stuck to my usual stripes, I decided to add a splash of colour (shock horror) and mix things up a little! No doubt this outfit will be worn and worn multiple times as I am just in love with it at the moment.

Q+A Time?

I wanted to do something a little bit different for this post. I think sometimes when I am writing to you all I feel like everyone already knows things about me. You may feel like you do, but there’s never actually been a time when I have spoken about things such to what my favourite thing about blogging is or what camera I’m using. So, I thought it would be really nice to, well just speak about stuff and things.. things I am doing and that I love. This may be the most rambling post I've ever written but hey-ho here goes.

I never have been the best at answering questions BUT I hope these make some sense and that you enjoy the post. Let me know some of your answers to these same questions in the comments. I’d love to know more about you too!

What's your favourite thing about blogging?
Blogging is just something I love, I really don't think I could pinpoint one specific thing which is my favourite about it. I love how there are no rules, I can be as creative as I want. I can take photos and write about whatever I feel like, and I love it just to rewind, escape life and it's a perfect break from "reality" plus it's just fun!

What camera do you use?
Currently, I use the Canon EOS 700D with an 18-55mm lens. I am looking into investing in a new lens so if anyone has any recommendations for which lenses or where to look to get one then please comment below as I need all the help I can get.

Do you use lights to take your photos? If so, what do you use?
I don't use any lighting for my photos, most of the time I have to plan it around the time of day and weather! I rely on natural light which can be such a nightmare in winter when it's dark nights and dull days. Personally, sunlight is best for me.

How do I edit my pictures?
Currently, I have just been using PicMonkey as well as Snapseed and VSCO. I love pretty much all the filters on VSCO and particularly the filter A6! However, I really want to try out Lightroom, if anyone has used it let me know if it's worth the money and if it is easy to use etc.

What’s your go-to outfit?
Anyone who knows me it tends to be black and white stripes teamed with something dusty pink. All day everyday #soznotsoz.

If you could visit any one place, there would it be?
I think my absolute favourite place I’ve been has to have been New York City, I love everything about it there. The people, food, atmosphere and lifestyle.... it is just perfect. As for where I want to go, the list is pretty much endless.... Australia, LA, San Francisco. OHSOMANYPLACES!!!

What’s your favourite thing to take photos of?
This is such a hard one. I love trying to capture photos of people but I wouldn't say I was the most confident so I guess that is something I want to be able to improve and work on. But I think it's gotta be cute flat lays or city snaps. I love love love trying to capture what I see and share it with you guys.

Summer or Winter?
Definitely summer! I lurvee everything about it, from sitting in the park with friends, the sunshine, long warm nights, getting a tan, summer holidays, beaches, ice cream... okay, I'll shut up now you probably get the gist.

How do you get motivated? What if you just run out of ideas for photos?
When I get that mental block, I really try and just embrace it. I usually get my notebook out and have a few hours reading through blogs, brainstorming ideas and inspiration from magazines, not forgetting Pinterest too. Sometimes I just have to take a step back, look what is around me then I get inspired, only good things will come from it!

Did I ever want to stop blogging?
Yes! I have gotten so down on myself in the past but, I have never quit anything before in my life so I kept at it and I am so happy I did. I never imagined I would get to where I am today.
