Autumnal Makeup

One of my favourite things about Autumn is all of the beautiful seasonal colours and shades that start appearing, particularly in beauty products and new releases. I thought I’d share a few gorgeous shades and products I’ve been using recently. I find myself really starting to enjoy different products and shades at this time of year. When the weather gets cooler I tend to move away from pastel shades and into deeper tones.

To start I have then been warming up my collection with a splash of Benefit’s Hoola. I bought this product when I was over in New York after a lot of recommendations and it adds a really natural bronze look.

I tend to find myself wearing more shimmery, gold eye shadows at this time of year too, these shades are from NYX and Seventeen. They are so pretty and when layered together they create such a beautiful tone and compliment each other beautifully.

The NYX single eyeshadow in Gold Lust is more of a lose shadow that you would use on top to compact heavier colours whilst adding a bit of sparkle. Whereas the Seventeen single eyeshadow in the shade Walnut Pearl is super pigmented and looks amazing on its own once blended in. However I tend to layer them and the mix of the gold tones and brown shades are stunning. I can't get enough of browns and gold eyeshadows as they are perfect for any season but especially autumn time!

Moving on to lips. Again I go for deeper, richer tones. I love the matte effect lipsticks and lipcreams as they are more pigmented and seem to last a lot longer during the day too. The liquid suede lip cream collection by NYX has to be one of favourite lip collections ever as the colour is long lasting and is perfect for this time of year as it keeps your lips well moisturised. However the standard NYX coloured lipsticks have a more shimmery look which are best suited for autumn christmas time too. Finally you can never go wrong with a classic matte lipstick in a deep red tone. I particularly love the matte collection from Sleek and the shade Dare.

Finally there is only one way to finish off any autumnal look and its by having the classic deep red nail colour. Obviously there is so many dark red nail paint out on the market, but I particularly like the BarryM Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint because its long lasting nail polish and gives a shiny finish to your nails after two coats of polish.

Daily Inspiration | Interior

DOING IT THE PINTEREST WAY:

I guess we've all been there. I'm pretty sure we've all fallen in love with Pinterest interiors. I have a pinboard with over 200 pins of interiors that all basically look the same. Plants. Copper. Art. Minimal but all with a cosy design. And you guys must be the same, or these pictures wouldn't exist on my feed haha.

Everyone wants to make their bedroom, office and home like all of those photos you see on Pinterest. Plus if you're anything like me and you'll always be wanting to make those interior goals a reality, so this is probably the right post for you.

I thought today I would share something new. Since moving house and decorating my room I really wanted a 'Pinterest Goal' bedroom. I ended up seeing bedrooms with cute inspirational quotes on the walls, so I decided to do the same. Today is just a super quick interior DIY post with tips on how to reach these interior dreams without breaking the bank, because really it's so simple.

To start, I know there is a lot of shops online that sell typography prints and they are already framed but they can often reach ridiculous prices of £30+. I must admit I came across a store online called The Motivated Type which sells so many unique, beautiful prints. But who needs that when you can do it yourself.

I first seen a framed quote in, believe it or not, Card Factory. It was stupidly cheap like £2 and I instantly fell in love as its got the copper writing and ah it was too cute not to buy.

Next I was then in Sainsbury's looking at all the cards and came across two small cards with quotes on in black and copper for only a £1 each. Instantly I was in awe and took them straight to the checkout. Soon as I got home I was back on Pinterest searching more quotes and found my final two which I saved, edited a little on Photoshop and printed them off at home.

Obviously the cards and home prints didn't have frames so I headed to Wilko's and bought 4 standard size frames in both black and silver for only £1 each.

Overall it was just under £10 to create your own motivational quote wall, which is a bargain for how fricking beautiful they look. So if you're wanting to make your room like all those Pinterest photos you see then this DIY hack is definitely an easy, quick and cheap option to achieving the perfect bedroom or office which ticks all the boxes for 'Pinterest goals'.

Autumn Fashion Wishlist

Its now September which can only mean one thing. Its officially autumn. I love almost everything about autumn. Especially when it comes to autumnal clothing. And, for that reason I thought it would be the perfect time to share with you, my Autumn Fashion Wishlist! (I'll leave links below the images).

With any outfit in the autumn time I love bringing in deep burgundy colours into my outfits, to give it a warming touch. So to start with I came across this long cable scarf in burgundy on ASOS by Reclaimed Vintage. It just looks so warm and cosy! And must for both autumn and winter here in the UK. I thought it would look good partnered up with the ASOS cord denim cropped jacket with Borg in a rusty colour. I've got a blue denim jacket with similar inside lining from TopShop and it is literally my favourite go-to jacket for this time of year. Plus the colour is to die for, the rustic colours are just lush!! Final item which looks good with these two is classic washed black mom jeans from TopShop. I've got already got two pairs of mom jeans but you can never have too many pairs of jeans, right?

ASOS, Scarf. TopShop, Jeans. ASOS, Jacket.

Another item I am loving at the moment are warm wooly jumpers. There is no better feeling than throwing on an over-sized jumper on chilly days in autumn and winter. I came across this grey open stitched jumper on MissGuided and its just perfect, as you can dress down with jeans and trainers or go smarter to be worn with boots. For £15 it's quite a good bargain. Shoes and bags are essentials to finish off any autumnal outfit, I really liked the cross body bag in dark green from New Look as its probably the perfect size for using it out and about. They also did in deep red but I preferred the green. My final item I am really really loving is Dr Marten original black shoes! I love wearing my Dr Marten boots as once they are broke in to they are super comfy and well worth investing in.

Well there you have it...a selection of the sort of items I am already on the look out for to wear in the Autumn months. Don't get me wrong, I love summer (I have come to the conclusion that I in fact love every season in it's own way to be honest, as every time a new one comes around I always rave over it) but now it is the end of the summer season, I have to admit that I am incredibly excited for Autumn to arrive, and hopefully I will get my hands on some of the above items (or at least ones similar to them) to make my Autumn as stylish as possible!

Lots of love,
