Goodbye 2015

WOW! What a year, it seems to have gone by sooo quickly. You know they say a lot happens in a year, well it certainly does. Things change, people change and so on. I just want to reflect on what's happened really.

For a start I'll have had my blog for a year tomorrow, which is an extra excuse to celebrate. It's crazy how this time last year I was worrying about posting my first post and here I am, posts later and planning some cool stuff for the year ahead of us. Whether you've been here since the start or only stumbled across me the other week I just want to say a huge thank you for supporting me with this journey. Without hearing feedback, seeing so many people read my posts as well as reading comments I'm not to sure if I'd still be here posting. Also can we just look at the difference (yikes)!!!!

Moving on... This year has brought me closed to many new friends that I never really knew and met until this year. I call these girls the 'Vamps Girls' as we  all became friends through The Vamps, it sounds cheesy af but it's cute and I love them to pieces. I'm looking forward to next year with them all as we've got plans already made for the boys' tour which I'm super duper hyped about as well as a few of us going to 5SOS for soundcheck and the concert together.

Squad Goals (inc. Jess, Laura & Amy too)
I can't forget a certain bunch of lovely people who I pretty much have to spend everyday with at school. I shouldn't complain as I'd probably be sat alone at lunch if it wasn't for these lot. They keep me smiling and I'm grateful to say I've got two groups of friends I can always rely on.

BRING ON 2016!!

They'll probably kill me for using this photo, ooops
Family can make such a difference and it's been tough for us all with various things but we've come out stronger as a team as we have stuck by each other and got through it all and now we've got the next year ahead to absolute smash it. Thank you :)

I'm not really sure what this post was whether it was a look back at the year or thank you's to my friends and family. But in the end I just want to say have an amazing new year and I hope 2016 is an even better year for you all.
Lots of Love
Hannah-Mae
ps. it's crazy how close you can become to someone yet drift so far apart from someone else. I just want to share this short video of Emily and I when we met up after months of not seeing each other. We are friendship goals, just sayin'. It just shows that no matter what distance or how often you see each a friendship is a life and nothing can break that.

Winter Street Style

I've been getting out and about recently and I got the chance to meet up with the Vamps girls last week, and it was the perfect opportunity when Jess and I were together to have a mini photo shoot and test out her new Sony Alpha 5000 camera.

Please go check out her blog as it's pretty amazing, I must say: Jess' blog!

But for now I just want to share my everyday street style with you and I'll leave links for what I'm wearing at the end.

Armathwaite Hall

On Friday my friends and I had booked to go for afternoon tea (posh, I know) at Armathwaite Hall in the Lake District. It was extremely festive with the roaring log fire, a huge Christmas tree by the stairs. It really got my in to the Christmas spirit. I didn't take many photos but this photo just shows how amazing it was!

I keep seeing loads of people on Instagram in shirt dresses with knee boots or in the shops in town or online and I'm literally in love! So with friends and I going for afternoon tea I wanted to look dressed up but slightly casual.

Christmas Cupcakes

I am not a one for baking and cooking but I thought I may as well have a go at baking cute Christmas Santa cupcakes in the lead up to Christmas. These are gooey chocolate cupcakes with added chocolate, icing and strawberries. I am not that good with baking sponge so I cheated (please don't kill me).

What you'll need:
(makes 18 cupcakes)
Betty Crocker Devil's Food Cake mix
120ml vegetable oil
230ml water
3 medium eggs
Strawberries
Chocolate
and White ready-roll icing

What to do now:
Preheat the oven to 180°C

To begin use the Betty Crocker mix and put it in a large mixing bowl with the oil, water eggs. Mix it all together using a  and you get a thick chocolatey mixture.

Once you've evenly filled the cupcake cases, pop them in the oven for 20 minutes.

Whilst they are baking, take the ready-roll icing, roll it out flat making sure you have a good thickness. Use a cookie cutter and cut out circles of white icing which will go flat on to the cupcake. You then roll small balls of icing which will be the bobbles on the hats.
After they've baked take them out and let them cool off. Once they are cool, you put a small amount of melted chocolate on the top of the cupcake so the icing circles stick to the top.

Once the first layer of icing is done you can then put some chocolate underneath the strawberry and place it upside down on top of the cake. As well as putting a small amount of chocolate on the small balls of icing.

And ta-dah you've officially mastered these super easy, quick Christmas cupcakes. They are mega cute and perfect for a sweet treat over the festive holiday.

Dear Santa...

It's reaching Christmas and everyone is feeling rather festive. I've got the Christmas tree up, fairy lights are around my room, and everyone is feeling cheery singing along to their favourite Christmas songs. I've decided today to stick with 'Christmassy' posts I am going to share the things that I would LOVE to get for Christmas, some I have actually asked for and some are just a dream.

I have an obsession with shoes, boots and trainers and I am in love with the adidas Originals Superstar White & Black Trainers. If I had the choice I'd chose trainers and vans over heels anyday.

I mean who doesn't want a MacBook! But there is nooo way will I be getting one of these for Christmas. My aim is to work hard and save up so I can hopefully buy one before university. As come on they are pretty amazing and the new rose gold on just looks beautiful.
Again sticking with the rose gold, the Olivia Burton watches are jsut so simple yet look so elegant. So you know if anyone is stuck on what to get me the MIDI DIAL GREY AND ROSE GOLD is my favourite.

I understand these are pretty pricey items I'm loving so being more realistic on my list there is...

I do love sitting down with a good movie and this year these have just caught my eye. I haven't had the chance to see them yet and I really want to watch them. Amy (the documentary of Amy Winehouse), Gone Girl and Straight Outta Compton. I know they are very different but I can't stand watching stereotypical films that have a cliché ending.

As well as I'm wanting The Vamps new CD 'Wake Up'. So far I've just been streaming it on Spotify and you've gotta love having a physical copy of an album instead of a download. *insert promo* Go listen and buy the album as it's bloody good!

So that's all I am really loving and wanting at the moment. What's on your Christmas list?

Decorating for Christmas

We finally got round to putting up the Christmas tree and getting out all the Christmas decorations. Instantly I am filled with excitement knowing that Christmas is soon on its way. Sparkly baubles, twinkling fairy lights and the smell of scented candles fill my house.

Have you all got your Christmas tree and decorations up yet?

ANTI-BULLYING

Let’s talk about bullying. It’s better out of your head than in it.

This week has been Anti-Bullying Week throughout the UK, so I kinda just want to talk about it. Whether it’s happening to you or someone you know, face-to-face or online I want this post to be helpful so you can make your voice heard.

Personally I feel that everyone goes through some sort of  bullying at some stage in their lives, especially when they are younger. You go through questioning everything that you do and whether you're going to be bullied for it or not and whether or not anyone's gonna pick up on it or say anything to you. But we need to stop living in constant fear of bullies and stand out against them.

Bullying can leave you feeling anxious, sad, lonely and sometimes depressed but it doesn't have to be that way which is why I've got some tips to help anyone through it.

#1 See the best in you

Bring out the best in you by reflecting on the good stuff in your life. I know for a fact it's not easy to do as you're made to feel like nothing is right with who you are and what you're doing. But everyone has something that they like about themselves. Even if it's something silly like making a really good cup of tea.

#2 Look to the future

Keep looking forward and imagine that day when bullying isn't around in your life anymore and you're striving for something that you really want and the idea of who you what it be. So if you keep hold of that idea it gives you something to keep going for.

#3 Reward yourself

If you've achieved things but also if you've done anything that's positive. As we are always so harsh on ourselves when we make a mistake but when it's goes right we never give ourselves the credit for it.

#4 Do things that make you happy

Listen to music, read your favourite book, watch movies. Or make a list entitled "things that make me happy" and write down all the things that make you smile, and don't stop till the page is full. Because trust me there is a hundred positive things that make you more positive and upbeat for each negative thing.

Finally... Make someone feel better by small random acts of kindness. Smile at people in the street, it might make their day. Or message / tweet someone who says their having a bad day, by saying 'keep smiling, things will get better soon x'

Just remember if you're being bullied you're never alone as their is always someone to talk too, whether its family, teachers, a  best friend or someone on the internet. It's better to speak and share you're issue than to keep it bottled up until things get worse.

BE STRONG!

Move aside Cara Delevingne

I don't tend to talk about my studies on here much but for my A2 Media course I needed to get original photography for my own made up female celebrity who will feature on my magazine front cover and article.

Last week I had organised a mini "photoshoot" with a friend of mine, and our outcome was pretty good, I was happy with the shots we took and so was she. We based ourselves in one of the studios at Razzamataz Theatre School, cranked up the music and had a laugh while we took photos. All I want to do is share a few of my favourite photos from the shoot.
